The Palmer Consultation: Conversations on Church and Community brings together leaders from the church, academy, and community to discuss issues relevant to the health of the Church and the communities they serve. The theme for this inaugural Consultation is “Empowered African American Churches:
Weaving Together the Power of the Gospel through Discipleship, Outreach, Scholarship, and Activism.” Panelists will dialogue on four topics:
- “What Do We Mean When We Say ‘Church’?”
- “The Church as Catalyst for 20 th Century Economic Development”
- “How Then Shall We Preach”
- “Being the Church in the Public Square”
